it's not so hard

image from here

I've just come back from running a few errands, the main one being visiting the bank and showing them my proof of registration letter for this year so that they don't automatically upgrade my account to a big fat fancy pants gold graduate account (translation: massive monthly fees). Anyway, while I was waiting in line to see one of the consultants, I couldn't help but notice how rude so many of the other customers were. Sure, half of them were ancient old ladies who probably have lost it decades ago, but still, I just felt really bad for the staff. I know how shitty it is to get bad service, sure, and of course there's the trusty old "the customers always right" saying, but there's still no need to be so aggressive.

Ok, ranting done! Time to get to college...

oh yeah, sure buddy!

After handing in on Tuesday, I went home with Lisa. We went on a little adventure around her neighbourhood, the sweet seaside town of Muizenberg. I love this part of the world, it's got some of the most interesting old buildings and there is a real mix of people living there. Completely unpretentious and totally charming. I love that it's a pretty and slightly gritty place at the same time, so different from places like Camps Bay and other seaside spots near town. My boyfriend also lives there and him and I always joke that Muizenberg feels just like Obs, but at the sea...

stand, pose and try your best to look normal

Some outtakes from photos that Lisa and I had to take of ourselves before we handed our competition entry in. We both felt so goofy and tired, but I think these ones are so funny!

(Lisa, if you read this anytime soon, please don't kill me!)

"just my type"

Saw this on Between10and5 this morning, looks like it should be a good one!

"an exhibition featuring the typographic stylings of Ben Johnston, One Horse Town and Jason de Villiers taking place at Yours Truly in Cape Town on Friday. See you there."

"love what you do"

Something to keep in mind, especially when I come to deciding on my research topic for my BTech course. We have to choose one topic to research for the whole year... so far I'm feeling a little lost and undecided.

hello hi!

new year, new student card, same silly face!

Hello!

Wow, things have been pretty busy lately. I recently started working at an amazing little clothing store, Babette Clothing, I did some freelance work in Woodstock and then went back to college on Monday! Oh, and on Tuesday, Lisa and I (finally) handed in our submission for the Nokak Eco Design Competition.

More info and photos about that to follow...

treasures hidden in ordinary places

I spent some time going through my old stamp collection over Christmas time and was amazed by all the different patterns printed inside the envelopes. So today I finally whipped out my camera and documented them... I feel like posting a letter now!
