More sketchbook

This one is about pain and nightmares - mostly nightmares though! Somehow I just don't think I got the expressions quite right.... Constructive comments anyone?

Sketchbook

I was feeling inspired last night, so I made a sketchbook and did some drawings.
These are all pen and ink.

I have been having some really bad back pain lately, which is where the idea for this one came from!

I think a good name for this one would be "Awesome Arsehole"...

Brooch design

I was bored the other day after college, so I made something out of old bits and pieces of paper. Think they turned out quite nicely!
I gave the blue one to my friend for his birthday (because it looked more like a boy) and kept the other one for myself. They are made from materials that probably won't last forever, so I will just enjoy them while they're still 'alive'...

Here are some new drawings for a project that I handed in today - the aim was to go to a space or location (I went to the Mowbray bus/taxi/train terminus) and then draw your reactions or feelings towards the space. I felt loneliness, fear, and even a sense of boredom (waiting for the bus!), so I tried my best to draw that. We also had to experiment with different media, or use whatever was appropriate to how we felt in the space, so I used a few different things.

Quick sketches in my new visual diary, based on the video, "Enter the Ninja" by Die Antwoord. Aiming to do at least one quick drawing every day from now on, so keep watching ...

Illustration

One of my favourite first-year projects, editorial illustration for a magazine article entitled,
"The Anatomy Lesson", using Rembrandt's famous painting of the same name as reference. I couldn't find a male model with the right facial expression, so ended up using my own face instead!

Fresh meat! New blog!

Hi there! and thank you for visiting!
This is my first ever blog so now i feel like the new kid in Grade 2 all over again.
I've just started my second year of Graphic Design studies and am looking forward to a new year with new projects, new ideas, long late nights and crazy deadlines, all fueled by the finest filter coffee (the inner copywriter is creeping through!).

My first mission will be to organize and post some work from last year and as soon as that's on track and up to date I will add some new items.
