finishing touches

I must be on a roll with this blogging thing, i mean, 6 posts in 2 days? what nerd/procrastinator i am. This is a screenshot of something that I'm currently working on. Part of a poster series that will go with my corporate identity in time for the big bad graduate exhibition. Just under a month with too much to do! Fun times ahead.

a happy afternoon

Say hello to my newly-stamped business cards!

Very happy with them.

better than christmas

The rubber stamps for my personal corporate identity have been ordered and will be ready for collection tomorrow afternoon. I'm so excited! Can't wait to start stamping... I have a feeling that I will end up stamping a lot more than just business cards and letterheads, soon my whole room, including my face hands and lunchbox will be covered in inky logo's and contact information and then I will need a whole bottle of Handy Andy to come clean.

Super excited!

AIM logo

Something else I did this weekend - design a logo for myself. Something I've been meaning to do for a long long time. It happened very "naturally" (can you use that in a sentence about logo design?) - it still needs work, but so far I'm happy, which is a good thing since I've been pretty unhappy about a lot of my work lately...

Simple, hand-rendered and in black ink - my favourite elements of graphic design - which is why I think it works pretty well as a little logo for myself. Getting somewhere, Sawyer!

Is that your final answer?

I designed this logo and set of "stickers" for a slideshow presentation that our design history group had to present yesterday. The whole thing was a play on the "Who wants to be a Millionaire" franchise, with a bit of a cultural twist.

Here is the logo that goes with the packaging project that I just completed. The name, Intwasa, means "the calling" that one gets from the ancestors, summoning them to become a Sangoma or traditional healer.

The logo design is directly inspired by the wildebeest tail swish that Sangomas use in their rituals - both by the hair of the tail and the swishing motion it creates.

The type was all done by hand and is meant to loosely represent bones that are also used in ritual "throwing of the bones" ceremonies and the hair of the wildebeest tail as well.

Quite a simple logo, but  I think it's also pretty effective!

(I will post the rest of the packaging design very soon!)
