wet ink

I found one of my old paint palettes in class today and it still had some nice designer's colours left in it from last time. So I had some fun in my new pocket sketchbook...

AIM logo

Something else I did this weekend - design a logo for myself. Something I've been meaning to do for a long long time. It happened very "naturally" (can you use that in a sentence about logo design?) - it still needs work, but so far I'm happy, which is a good thing since I've been pretty unhappy about a lot of my work lately...

Simple, hand-rendered and in black ink - my favourite elements of graphic design - which is why I think it works pretty well as a little logo for myself. Getting somewhere, Sawyer!

late night book making

These are some drawing/note books that I made recently - well, technically I only made the first one and covered the second one, but anyway, I had fun and am planning on doing this more often and then selling some too... watch this space!

the one I made - a pocket sketch/notebook for myself, with swan illustration in red and black ink

inside pages - nicely stitched, hence my crooked fingers!

the one I covered - using fabric and a picture of an old monument man - this is actually the "finances log book" for our Sappi group, so I thought it would be funny to combine pretty old-fashioned granny floral fabric with a very financial looking statue man...

inside - not as nice as the first one!

Broken Lens Club

I dropped my camera on its lens about 2 weeks ago, the only problem is that I only realised that something was wrong when I needed to use it last week and the lens was completely jammed - no zoom, no focus, no nothing! But that didn't stop me and some friends from messing around with it until insurance paid out, (which they did, really quickly) - I got my new lens on Friday, but these photos really made me laugh - they were all taken around tech, except for the last one, which i took in my room/"studio"...

my early-morning face!

us in our new "office" - will explain more about this later...

Jared being organised

I think I had about 5 cups of tea tea that afternoon!

This one is the funniest, because I managed too get the old lens semi-working, took a shot of the new lens in its box, then it packed up again!
